Praying in Balinese Hindu Temple

Visiting a Hindu temple and pray can give us abundance of spiritual experience. Do not see this as an article that insist a religion thought, but see how we can improve our insight views to ourselves.

Code of Conduct Entering Temple
1. Woman: make sure that you are not in period (menstruation).
2. Man and Women: you are not during condolence
3. Do not bring pet
4. Tie up your hair
5. Use proper dress (Balinese custom or other), covering your foot from knee downward.
6. Not to use wet clothes
7. In certain part of temple, do not use slipper/shoes
8. Do not stand in front of prayer
9. Do not climb any building, fence, or statue
10. Do not speak hoax, kidding, loudly, dirty; those may be disturb prayer, priest, and other visitor

For praying, what to bring?
Do not forget to bring offerings: Canang Sari, flower, Kuwangen, Incense Stick, lighter. Other native people will bring bigger offerings called Pejati, Banten, etc depend on their purpose

Step by step praying
1. Find the best position, sit down on the floor.
2. Prepare your flower and incense
3. Follow instruction from priest
4. If you don not know mantra, do not worry. God know every language. Use your own language in your hearth.

Find a place that will not disturb other visitor
