B R I E F S T O R Y
Badar batur is one type of gemstone
that is founded at Batur volcano, Kintamani, Bali. The Badar Batur formation
founded at the rocky slopes and foot of the volcano. According to volcanologist
and local people, the lava eruption formed sediment of various type of stone
and sand. Most of the stone and sand are exploited for construction material.
Meanwhile, among the wide spread of stone and sand that lies on the slope and
foot of mount Batur, we can find some precious stone, we call them as Badar
Batur.
Badar can be defined as any stone or
crystal stone that contain metal, mainly gold, silver, or iron. We can easily
see these metal content by naked eyes because of sparkling when it is
deflecting light. According to the local people of Batur Village, there are
some type of Badar stone:
1. Batu Rejeng (Rejeng Stone), a black
or dark colour Badar stone. It is mostly fragile Badar stone. But, many of them
are solid and have fine quality.
2.
Batu Bulitan (Bulitan Stone), a dark
colour Badar stone. Some of us say river stone, it is very solid and durable
stone.
3.
Crystal stone (rock crystal), a
crystal sediment that was founded mostly at east area of the Batur volcano
(Kanginan). The original crystal stone sometimes contain rock part, hole, and
cracking-look, but solid and robust.
While every stones are unique, then
various type of stone enable us to create any kind of jewelry that match our
zodiac, preference, and budget.
